This song from Three Days Grace is called "The High Road" is a song I love and so will you.......

Group and Song Facts:

Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band formed in Norwood, Ontario, Canada in 1992, originally under the name Groundswell. After a breakup in late 1995, the band regrouped in 1997 under its current name with a line-up consisting of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. In 2003, Barry Stock was recruited as the band's lead guitarist. The band is based in Toronto.

After signing to Jive Records, Three Days Grace has released four studio albums, each at three-year intervals: Three Days Grace in 2003, One-X in 2006, Life Starts Now in 2009, and Transit of Venus in 2012. The albums have been certified platinum, double platinum, and gold, respectively, in the United States. The band have a string of number one songs on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts.

On January 9, 2013 Three Days Grace announced that lead singer Adam Gontier was resigning from the band because of a "non-life threatening" health issue. Adam Gontier has been replaced for the duration of the tour by My Darkest Days singer Matt Walst, brother of bassist Brad Walst.

Transit of Venus is the fourth studio album by Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. It was released on October 2, 2012 through RCA Records. This is Adam's Gontier last album with the band Three Days Grace as he annouces his retirement due to health concerns.  The album is the band's first to be released under the record label, following the folding of their former label, Jive Records, in 2011.[2] The album was produced by Don Gilmore and recorded at Revolution Studios in Toronto.[3]

On June 5, 2012, the same day as Venus' visible transit across the sun, the band released the album title and release date.[4] The album spawned two singles ("Chalk Outline" and "The High Road"). It is the last of the band's albums to feature former lead singer Adam Gontier.[5] The album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.[6]

This song is based on a metaphor that compares life to a road. This particular road, like life, has high points and low points. But like a road has signs to direct people where to go, life has family, friends and loved ones to help direct our lives in the right direction. This song is about being in one of those low points and asking for help finding the way out. Gontier sings "there's times I stayed alive for you, there's times I would have died for you," which means that he has been there to help someone else in their low spot but now needs that person to help him. Because the thing about hills is that once you go down, there's always a way back up - he needs help finding that high road to lead him back to the top. The lyrics suggest that this song is perhaps meant for a significant other: "I'll do whatever it takes to be the mistake you can't live without." This implies that the narrator needs guidance so that he can live a better life for the person that he loves.

I told you I was hurt

Bleeding on the inside

I told you I was lost

In the middle of my life

There's times I stayed alive for you

There's times I would've died for you

There's times it didn't matter at all

Will you help me find the right way up

Or let me take the wrong way down

Will you straighten me out

Or make me take the long way around

I took the low road in

I'll take the high road out

I'll do whatever it takes

To be the mistake you can't live without

Standing in the dark

I can see your shadow

You're the only light

That's breaking through the window

There's times I stayed alive for you

There's times I would've died for you

There's times it didn't matter at all

Will you help me find the right way up

Or let me take the wrong way down

Will you straighten me out

Or make me take the long way around

I took the low road in

I'll take the high road out

I'll do whatever it takes

To be the mistake you can't live without

We'll I'm not gonna give it away

Not gonna let it go just to wake up someday

The worst part is looking back

And knowing I was wrong

Help me find the right way up

Or let me take the wrong way down

Will you straighten me out

Or make me take the long way around

I took the low road in

I'll take the high road out

I'll do whatever it takes

To be the mistake you can't live without

I'll do whatever it takes

To be the mistake you can't live without
